In 1963, a group of top advertising agencies formed an independent company to consolidate their monitoring and reporting services. This new company, Advertising Information Services (AIS), provided vital intelligence such as competitive expenditures, while amortizing the costs among all the agency owners. This model proved successful in reducing costs and improving the method and quality of necessary information gathering.
Over the years, AIS expanded its range of services and roster of clients. In 1974 we began pre-screening network programming and creating content reports for advertising and media agencies. Today, we are still the leading independent company to provide this service, pre-screening virtually every primetime and late night network program. Additionally, we have, for many years, provided pre-air commercial verification and customized monitoring projects.
Through expansion and acquisitions, AIS became a leading provider of media intelligence. We pioneered an online database of competitive advertising and became a major supplier of broadcast news segments. In 2003 and 2004, AIS made the strategic decision to divest itself of these divisions and to focus on its core operations. As part of this divestiture, the company reorganized and rebranded, giving AIS a new look and a new name.

Our core businesses are complemented by new services such as commercial activity reports, sponsor placement analysis and local cable monitoring.
